The Duchess of Malfi
In a course studying gender in Premodern Literature that I took in the spring of 2015, it was my desire to continue to develop projects of a creative nature, building on what I began with "Troilus and Criseyde"; therefore, I adapted John Webster's "The Duchess of Malfi" and, in doing so, chose to emphasize the most dramatic elements of the story while defining a motivation for the character Bosola to orchestrate the great changes within the play.
Below, you will find a link to both the adaptation that I wrote for "The Duchess of Malfi", and a link to the accompanying essay that was written to explain my source material, inspirations, and reasons for the choices I made in the adaptation.
